FPInnovations works extensively toward increasing the acceptance and
recognition of the industry's wood products and systems on the basis
of their demonstrated performance. We are also very active in several
national and international building codes and standards committees.
With our expertise in wood-based building materials, conventional
or engineered, our knowledge of wood engineering and building applications,
and our multi-disciplinary approach, we can help you deal with specific
issues in connection with product performance, applications and

state-of-the-art equipment
To achieve their research objectives and provide technical
support, including on a fee-for-service basis, our Building Systems
specialists have access to modern equipment and laboratories
accredited by the Standards Council of Canada to test and measure
mechanical properties of wood products.
We also have large-scale facilities (both in Vancouver and Quebec)
where complete building systems (walls, floors, etc.) can be tested
for structural resistance, durability, seismic and wind performance,
fire resistance, etc. Furthermore, we have the equipment necessary
to evaluate fire performance and durability through small-scale
tests.

Over the years, our Building Systems Group has also developed
key technologies, including software packages, to maximise value
for the wood products sector. Most of these tools are available
for members only.
