Hardwood conversion requires specific knowledge and state-of-the-art
technologies for this particular resource.Hardwood.
 Following
meetings with representatives of the hardwood products industry
in 2000 and 2001, FPInnovations was asked to establish a national Hardwood
Processing Advisory Committee. The mandate of this group is to guide
research and development in the areas of hardwood resource assessment,
sawmilling, drying, value-added products (flooring, furniture, etc.),
and link them to industry priorities.
The Hardwood Processing Advisory Committee is restricted to Forintek
members.
