FPInnovations' closest partners are obviously its government and industry
members. It
is through their support and guidance that we are able to deliver
a world-class research program and maintain leading-edge technical
facilities.
To enhance our effectiveness even further, we have developed an
extensive network of partnerships
with universities, colleges and training schools, industry associations
and other research organisations in Canada and around the world.
Today, FPInnovations scientists work closely with organisations in New
Zealand, Japan, China, United States, England, Italy, France, Germany
and the Scandinavian countries, just to name a few. In recent years,
FPinnovations has also taken a lead role in the establishment of a number
of Industrial Research Chairs in collaboration
with various universities across Canada.
Through this unique network of partners, FPInnovations is at the forefront
in identifying emerging innovations and market trends worldwide
while ensuring that fair and objective data on wood products are
disseminated in global markets. In doing so, we play a vital role
in ensuring that wood products are given due recognition by building
codes and standards-setting bodies around the world. Such recognition
for the many performance attributes of wood products is key to market
access and, therefore, to the success of our members within the
forest sector.
